About Mariposa Yoga Nutrition Wellbeing

Mariposa Yoga Nutrition Wellbeing was set up in 2018 by Mari, Registered Dietitian and 300-hr Certified Yoga Teacher. Mari offers advice and encourages healthy lifestyle through her time and work in the NHS, working as a Freelance Dietitian & teaching yoga classes and workshops.

Nutrition has played an important part in the management of Mari’s own challenging digestive and hormonal issues. However, it was whilst training to be a yoga teacher that she finally found the right balance for her health and began to see real progress in improving her symptoms. Yoga not only addressed the best ways to be active but restored energy levels and provided a daily awareness of the body and of mental wellbeing.

Dietetics

In her career as a Registered Dietitian Mari has specialised in various areas of Mental Health Dietetics including Adult Mental Health, Addictions and Adult Eating Disorders. Due to her specialisms, she has also lectured at Glasgow Caledonian University and presented at the Scottish Perinatal Mental Health Conference. In her clinical her work, Mari has supported hundreds of individuals to improve their symptoms and lifestyle through nutrition.

Mari’s private Dietetic work focuses not only on Nutrition for Mental Health but also on Women’s Health. Mari’s nutritional advice helps support women from Menstruation through to Menopause, specifically for PCOS, PMS, Endometriosis symptoms and Peri/Menopause.

Yoga

Mari is a certified Yoga Alliance Professionals yoga teacher qualified to teach Vinyasa flow, Restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra, Ayurvedic yoga & Menopause Yoga.

Mari has taught in yoga studios in South Lanarkshire and the South side & West end of Glasgow and has worked for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde running beginners classes as part of their Healthy Working Lives initiative. She now runs her own Yoga Classes in Clarkston, Glasgow.

Furthermore, Mari has led many Menopause Yoga, Nutrition and Wellbeing Workshops via Sankalpa Yoga Glasgow and also for female school staff members within Glasgow City Council. Mari was recently filmed teaching Menopause Yoga in the workplace and interviewed about the benefits by STV Scotland Tonight: Managing Menopause
